Set up two-step verification
With two-step verification, signing in with your password also asks for a six-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. The app makes a new code every 30 seconds (TOTP), so someone who knows your password still can’t sign in without your phone.
You need an authenticator app, for example Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator.
Set it up
Section titled “Set it up”- In any of the apps, open the account menu at the top right and select Two-step verification.
- Select Set up two-step verification.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you can’t scan it, enter the key shown below the QR code in the app instead.
- Enter the six-digit code the app now shows for the Strategy Agent, and select Confirm.
From now on, every sign-in with your password asks for a code from the app. If a code doesn’t match, enter the one the app shows now: each code is valid for only a short time.
When your Tenant requires it
Section titled “When your Tenant requires it”A Tenant can require two-step verification of everyone who signs in with a password. If yours does and you haven’t set it up yet, the apps show the setup straight after you sign in, before anything else. Follow the same steps, then select Continue to open your Tenant.
If you belong to several Tenants, you land in one that lets you in without it. Switching to a Tenant that requires it then says so: select Set up two-step verification, follow the steps above and switch again.
Turn it off
Section titled “Turn it off”- Open the account menu and select Two-step verification.
- Select Turn off two-step verification, then Turn off.
Signing in then needs only your password. If your Tenant requires two-step verification, you set it up again at your next sign-in.
