Switch Tenants

Your account can belong to several Tenants, for example your employer’s and one of your own. You work in one Tenant at a time. Your Conversations stay in the Tenant you had them in: you never see one Tenant’s Conversations in another.

When you sign in, you land in the Tenant you last worked in. If that Tenant no longer lets you in, for example because an admin deactivated your access, you land in the next Tenant that does.

The Tenant switcher sits next to the app switcher at the top left of every page and shows the Tenant you’re in. Open it and select another Tenant. You don’t sign in again. The app starts over on its start page in the new Tenant, and a note at the top says which Tenant you’re in now.

If you belong to one Tenant only, the switcher just shows its name.

Each Tenant decides how its users sign in, so a switch may ask more of you first:

  • The Tenant requires two-step verification and you haven’t set it up: select Set up two-step verification, follow the setup and switch again.
  • The Tenant signs you in through its SSO: select Sign in to sign in at the Tenant’s identity provider. You then land in that Tenant.
  • You signed in through one Tenant’s SSO and switch to another: select Sign in and sign in with your password to work there.

A switch applies to your account, not only to this browser tab. Your other tabs in the same browser move to the new Tenant at once. Your other devices and browsers move when they next renew your sign-in, within 15 minutes at the latest. They then start over on their start page too, so a page of the previous Tenant never stays open.
